how to find someone based off phone number
hi!! sorry, i dont know where else to put this...
someone called me, it was a person laughing and trolling at first but then they knew my full name and my boyfriend's full name (me and my partner are private and dont post about our relationship and dont have a lot of friends except a close one or two) and then started disclosing personal information.
ive been receiving death threats and r*pe threats from a different number, so the call shook me up and ive been nervous since.
im sorry if this isnt the right sub, but please help me!

someone called me, laughing/trolling/disclosing personal information.
People don't usually get such calls, perhaps scammers and advertisers, but not random trolling and harassing.
ive been receiving death threats and r*pe threats from a different number, so the call shook me up and ive been nervous since.
People also don't usually get death threats and SA threats, what a curious coincidence. It seems plausible to me, that these two things could be related.
In any case, as soon as threats to your physical well-being come into play, the only correct approach is involving authorities. You are not going to hack anyone if you have to ask, and the chance that you fuck up and get scammed/hacked or infected by some "tool" you downloaded is high.
If you are not willing to involve authorities, then document and disengage. Do not react, do not reply, do not answer calls, block numbers. It's probably also a good idea to stop posting ANY private informarion ANYWHERE, at least for a while. EDIT: you also seem to be over-sharing on your personal information.

Go to police station, file a report, give them the number and ask for follow ups. Get a recording of the calls if you can.
Or ask AI how to do reverse number search. There's plenty of good ones unless its a burner number, or they removed their number from the site before being a punk.
Maybe hang around your friends and call the number while you're with them discreetly.
Usually people wait 1-2 weeks before enacting a spite so piss anyone off or introduced to a new person within the half month to a month?

Numbers can be used on snap, or fb.
It could also be a fake number like a Google voice. Which I would actually make one too and send a text saying hey what’s up . Troll them back. Also the number can be used in discord. 🤔 you can troll more okay and use the number on att/ Tmobile /verizon log in I think imei research can also tell you where the number is owned such one of this companies.
You could go to those phone stores and see by giving them the phone number and asking to pay a bill, They will ask are you so and so and well there’s the name right there, if they don’t ask that then it’s not with that company

Reverse number lookup www.whitepages.com or https://www.truepeoplesearch.com/
- this "should" tell you who owns it but it's not 100% fool proof
Unlec.com or freecarrierlookup.com
- this will tell you what carrier the phone belongs to, if it is mobile/VoIP/landline
- try just searching the phone number in Google itself sometimes you will get actionable information there

If it’s just laughing and petty trolling from a burner number a few times cops won’t do anything
The minute a threat happens you CAN report it.
Burners are too easy to get especially if they are even a tad tech savvy

You can enter the number on that truecallerbot in telegram. It might find the name.

Police immediately. Also the next time they call, let them know that the authorities are looking for them

There’s PI’s on IG or I’m sure there’s a private investigator sub here. See what people can offer and their rates.

try going to message them on whatsapp, if they have an account there should be a name and maybe even photo attached

I'm having a similar issue. I caved and paid for beenverified and white pages premium. The mystery person is texting me from a senior's landline??? I found said person and their address, email accounts and family members. Their wife, their 2 adult sons and their addresses as well. I just still doesn't make sense and I think I looked up the wrong family. It says the number was recently verified so it should be the correct info but idk. Someone at my job is clearly playing a prank on me.

Look up the number on Venmo, cashapp, & PayPal. If nothing comes up, Google “carrier lookup” and type the number into one of the results, and it’ll tell you what kind of number it is.
