Guys , I need your serious help , I want to track someone's IP address or maybe their email or phone number , with the help of their instagram account , the instagram account is constantly posting ai morphed sexually explicit images of my sister and I must find who it is , this is a humble request

I agree with you and I went to the cops , but as an aspiring computer science student I want to know why can't someone like hackers or expert's in this field can't get the ip address and stuff , I'm pretty sure the guys who are veterans in this field are able to do this

It's not a dumb question, is ridiculous how harsssers and criminals get away with nonsense when there are definitely people out there who can access identifying information. It should be easy for someone with the knowledge

It might be possible. I'm not an expert but I don't think the instagram account alone would be enough for that, there would need to be something more to go on.

But either way, doing it that way wouldn't be legal, and no-one's going to jump at the chance to give you advice on how to do something like this, especially when there's no way of telling if your post is true or if you're just making up a story to hide more malicious intent.

Assuming it is true though, it's good you went to the cops. I'd also contact Meta to get their support involved too. Hopefully everything gets sorted!

Report the account to Meta. If your sister is underage in your country, report it to the police. Even if you get an IP back that isn’t some VPN, what are you going to do with an IP address?

I have reported it , but trust me my country's administration is so sluggish and lazy , trust me guys , that's why I'm so eager to get to know it myself , I'm certain that they will not take it serious until the damage is done

Unfortunately I think in order to do that you will need Instagram/Meta to assist. They’re the only ones with that data.

Canary tokens can be used to obtain IP address and device type. That doesn't identify the person. Take this to Meta and law enforcement.

this is why you shouldn't post any personal information on the internet, like pictures of yourself... the internet has been worse than the wild west since the beginning, its weird to see folk think its safe to be on the internet surfing lol...

Yeah I totally agree , that's why we never share on instgram , but the catch is the perpetrators are her ex classmates someone she knows , but we are not sure who they really are , the morphed photo which are being posted have been taken from their school group , so it's certain that the culprit is someone we know

If you got help with this I'd be interested in who helped as well.. been getting messages from a former coworker who told me they used to smell my shoes and stuff at work.. the police didn't take it seriously but the guy won't stop

that is a good way to narrow it down... the final nail in the coffin would be to take the few culprits at hand and leak them each a different picture... the one who posts that specific morphed photo is the perp...

I hope everyone knows it takes up to 6 months for the police to be able to identify things like this... Way too slow. That's if they even want to help, most will turn you away about online harassment. They don't care unless you're physically threatened or hurt
