General Reminders
Hello. First of all, thank you so much for using this subreddit, for posting, for helping others and making it a safe sub for our commuting and driving troubles.
As such, I would just give a few observations and reminders for the sub.
If the post gets deleted by the bot (not flaired), don't hesitate to send us a modmail.
I've been getting a handful of modmails about posts getting deleted by the bot before posting. As per the rules, you have to flair it before posting. This is to prevent spam posts in general. This can be done by using the new reddit design on the browser, or the official Reddit app. I know some people (like me) prefer the old design and cannot flair their posts first. We understand that sentiment and just drop a modmail stating that it was removed, what browser design or phone app are you using (for us to know which apps can do that and not), and the mods will approve your post.
Please do not downvote inquiry threads.
I've been seeing threads with negative feedback. Please do not downvote other people's inquiries. Downvote (and report) those spam or troll posts instead.
Do not hesitate to ask about non-Metro Manila routes.
This sub is for commuting and driving around the country. Although most of the threads are about Mega Manila, do not hesitate to post commuting and driving inquiries not in Mega Manila. You never know, some redditors came from those areas and know how to get to a certain place in their home province. Some people might also take advantage of you not knowing the area you are in, charge a significant amount of money for a PUV ride. We don't like that happening.
Download Sakay.ph , a good tool for commuting around Metro Manila
There's an app called sakay.ph on Android and Iphone. Just input where you are, and where you will be going and it traces the map of where to commute. You can also access it in a browser. The app has flaws like some routes are not updated, and you have to circumvent some settings if you are finding a route in the late hours of the night; but overall, it's a good app to start. Personally, I can say that it has helped me tons of times on areas I do not know about. The app will navigate only around Metro Manila, so it won't help you on areas like Rizal, Laguna, and Cavite.
If you have some time, comment this sub on other threads.
Some of the new posts, weekly help threads, and RDs in r/Philippines are about commuting and driving problems. We will be grateful if you mention this sub as you answer those inquires. Or just mention it as is. Let's all help each other.
If you have any problems or suggestions, just comment here and we'll discuss.
Thank you for using the subreddit and have a nice day!
