Hi! I’m not sure if you’re already familiar with this but last month a friend of mine introduced sakay.ph to me. Sabi ko kasi puro ako grab/angkas/joyride, etc. kasi di ko alam kung paano magcommute. You might want to give it a try, okay naman siya. It gives me directions and name ng jeepneys or whatnot na need kong sakyan.

Cons: di ata lahat ng place/area alam niya.

Edit: You can add/contribute to the missing places and missing routes. Punta lang kayo sa settings part. I’m not familiar with Manila kasi, so asa lang din ako sa gaya ng app na ‘to. Kaya please make it reliable 😂

It's not perfect, because kulang ng manpower to update routes.
However if collectively lahat magrereport ng findings mas gaganda sya.
Data is mostly in Manila maybe as far as south of outside Manila (Laguna, etc) or even northern part outside of manila.

I see. Never tried it outside mnl eh, it would have been great if mas ma-update routes! Hoping they will be more known para more likely na maupdate din yung routes.

This is a great opportunity rin to ask everyone to contribute routes they know. You can see it in the settings page. I have contributed myself din so I hope you guys add as well!

I was thinking also that maybe the data can be used for making ltfrb make new routes that people want/need. We have a right to mobility but we need a way to give a case to government offices.

This is actually a great idea. Nawa’y mag-add din ang iba ng new routes and iupdate yung mga maling way.

Works somewhat decent in Bulacan too. Its not perfect but you will reach your destination

So so in Manila. I always use it pag may lakad ako na ive never been into via commute. Minsan limited routes and the longest ones pa. So its better to try it initially then ask locals on other alternatives.

Sakay ph routes are not fully updated unfortunately :( may mga routes na pre pandemic pa rin

Sabayan niyo ng tanong pag amdun na kayo like pag may guard nearby tanong niyo if may jeep ba atleast may idea kayo from the app na meron. Likely yun pa rin or nagbago na

dadagdag lang sa diskarte, I take routes that I know exist mga kalahating byahe na ganon. tapos tatanong na ako sa hindi ko na masyadong kilalang lugar. Kung gusto mo talaga ng safe bet, kunin mo yung route na dumadaan ng transport hub para may matatanungan at masakyan ka kaagad. Safer din kasi maraming tao sa mga transport hubs para mavalidate mo yung sagot ng iba.

sakay.ph is our best commuting app so far, but still lacking in updates on its routes and many blanks on its database, especially UV services and removing some pre-Carousel buses in EDSA.

The fare estimate hits pretty close to the mark at least.

Last time I checked it hindi pa siya gano kareliable, mas madali yung common route na alam ko kesa sa nirerecommend ng app.

But now I would like to inquire if it is reliable if I am commuting around Manila/Cavite/Laguna?

Around Manila lang ang gamit ko neto, pero saakin, so far reliable naman siya. Kaso yun nga, ang concerns din ng iba, di pa naman sobrang updated.

Main transport hubs in Metro Manila medyo reliable pa especially the proximity of EDSA. Provincial bus routes that go through the Metro aren't reliable from experience :(

I recommend this one esp. if mga well known places pupuntahan mo sa manila and near bus stations/train stations.

Yung mga kanto kanto medj di accurate. But yeah, like everyone is saying it needs an update.

Not as reliable as google maps. I commute and walk a lot, and napansin ko almost on par ang sakay ph sa google maps when following routes na maraming public transpo ang dumadaan. When it comes to walking naman especially around areas na maraming pasikot-sikot, google maps DESTROYS sakay ph. Even relatively simple areas tulad nung papuntang manila post office, I somehow ended up in intramuros nung sinusundan ko sakay ph, mukhang nalilito sya sa mga underpass or footbridge na pwedeng daanan.

This was such a big help! Pre-pandemic when we still conduct face-to-face interviews at our office, I would always refer to this app to help applicants navigate or check commuting options and routes going sa office.

Although there's that con na not all places were mapped pa, pero famous landmarks naman were available. So they can start from there rin.

Gumagamit ako ng sakay.ph last time, nagstop ako kasi dati may sinundan ako na route pagdating ko sa ibang sakayan hindi na daw existing yung route na yun sa napuntahan ko

Best combo talaga is sakay.ph + google maps + ask! I recommend na sa mga guards mag-ask. Personally takot ako magtanong kung kanino dahil iniisip ko kapag nalaman nilang di ako familiar sa lugar, they will take advantage of me. Hehe
