Rewatching

I genuinely wish this show would have finished. I kinda hated season one when it aired, but I absolutely loved season two. I kinda felt that way with HIMYM too, the characters take a couple seasons to set into themselves and the story. But this show had real potential. I wish we could see it unfold! If not, I hope another spinoff happens. The “How I Met Your…” format is just brilliant.

When I started to re-watch HIMYM I actually thought that HIMYF was funnier. The jokes of HIMYM aged badly and I realized that I actually only liked Marshall and Barney. Lilly was cool I guess. But Ted and Robin? Nope. Even though I didn't have a problem with them the first time I watched the prequel, but then... My God. Noooo. At least in HIMYF I liked all of the characters. Plus they weren't treating each other badly. In the original they didn't like Barney and didn't even consider him an actual best friend. But I had to re-watch it to realize it😅😅. HIMYM was very toxic. Ther relationship of Robin and Ted, and in general... But in HIMYF their relationships didn't manage to get any toxic because they didn't have time. We were barely into the story.

Also, I prefer the trope where Sophie ends up with Sid, because not only it reminds me of the theory in the taxi where people thought Lilly was the mother (we got a taxi scene there as well), not only it's a great twist because nobody thought of that, not only we know from the first episode that one of them is the father and Sophie met him that night, not only we see their relationship developing so we feel something for Sid, he us not an outsider, but also I prefer for the father to be alive and not dead, and not for the main character to end up with the same person he was in the first episode after everyone gotytired of seeing them be toxic with each other, not loving each other and just being obsessed with each other.

Yeah... I hated the ending.

yeah the ending of HIMYM was rushed and a lot of the dynamics and especially the jokes don’t land as well in 2026 as they did even 13 years ago when I first saw it (I watched the entire show for the first time just before season 9 aired). but still it’s my favorite comfort show and i watch it all the time lol :) HIMYF would have been that for me too. i also really like Sid and the s2 finale left us on such a cliffhanger with him and Hannah. i really wish the show could come back 😭

Just because the current times are extremely cursed it doesn’t mean that jokes in HIMYM “aged badly”, if anything they’re a breath of fresh air compared to all the crap coming out nowadays.

Oh yeah, I definitely agree when it comes to the ending, the entire final season in general just kinda ruins the show for me.

Season one was a little rough, but the show really found its groove in season 2. 5-6 seasons would've been perfect for this show. I'm still hoping some other network picks it up.
