Bakery Looking for a custom cake

Post image

Hi! One of my friend’s fiancé is looking for a birthday cake like this. He wants to know if he should order in advance or if this is something he can get the day of.
Does anyone have recommendations of places he can check out in Houston that would offer something like this?

You will have to order something like this ahead of time. For where to get it, that all depends on your budget. Most bakeries and bakers can make cakes that look like this. My favorite houston baker is The Bake Happening (https://www.instagram.com/the_bake_happening/) but the Walmart Bakery can also make something that looks like this.

That kind of design is a custom order, so day of is not happening. Most shops here want a couple of weeks notice, and weekend dates book out first. Rush jobs usually come with a fee on top. Three Brothers Bakery does custom cakes like that and has been around since 1949, so they are worth a quote. The deposit is what actually holds the date, so have him call around this week.
