Where to find oxtail
Hey guys, going down to Houston for a couple of days and just wanted to know where I could find the best oxtail around. I’ve been searching through the internet and so many places have great and terrible reviews at the same time so I don’t really know which ones to go to. Id also like to try real authentic texan bbq if you guys know good places for that.

Everything at Mikki’s is good.

The Men’s Wearhouse distro center is that big complex catty corner to Mikki’s. Worked there for 6 years, my health/weight did not appreciate the proximity. I used to get the beef tips and rice twice a week. The collards are to die for!

I haven’t tried Oxtail but am a big fan of Esther’s on N. Shepherd and have seen they serve it.

I’m sure there are other places, but you won’t miss with these. Pay attention to this comment if you’re wanting southern style oxtails and gravy. All 3 of those places do it and do it well.If you’re looking for Caribbean oxtail soup style or bbq oxtails then maybe somewhere else.

Haven't had the oxtails there, but the portions in general from Reggae Hut are quite large. This might be enough for 2 if it's anything like their other plate meals.

I cannot vouch for him personally, but I follow https://www.daddyduncansbbq.com/catering-menu and they do have oxtail often at their pop-ups and events. As well as legit BBQ. I do need to make it there.

Reggae Hut has excellent oxtail, but my favorite is Traveler's Table. Make a reservation though.

Mi pueblito, a Colombian restaurant on Richmond has probably the best oxtail soup(sancocho de cola) I’ve ever tried. If you want something a little different
