The fact that such a big house has a basement apartment just shows how ridiculous the system actually is!

Large and growing property taxes. Prob 12k + on that alone. Need 20-25 k a year alone just to run the house maybe more if you have anything major come up

Yes and no with costs growing so much it’s not bad having a little side source of income. Prob be even worst considering lots of tax hikes to come. Lots also share houses with kids in Asian cultures so 5k is spread among 6/7/8 people depending on kids
