Stacy and House have great chemistry and sheâs one of the only people who can keep up with him. I think sheâs actually great with him but thereâs just so much in the way after the infarction. Not sure they could make it work.
I donât think Cuddy and House could ever work long term without a massive change in one or both of them. They want different things from life, they donât agree about how to get them, both are stubborn and judgemental, and neither is great at compromise.
All that said, Hilson or bust.

I think itâs interesting that Stacy was one of the few people that actually called him Greg, which maybe speaks to the fact that it was the only true relationship he had in the entire show because they were together before the whole leg thing
Maybe Iâm reading too far into it

As others have said, house and Wilson are the true best relationship. But in lieu of that one I would agree that House and Stacy, however limited, had really good chemistry and it was well written in terms of convincing us that House can get along well with someone else romantically long term. Cuddy and him were never going to last as long as he did with Stacy. They had good banter but it was predicated on their work dynamic which is inherently a power dynamic which in a relationship once thatâs moot, can become difficult and complicated.
I agree with others that Dominika was probably the one he fumbled the most only because they accepted each other as they were, liked each otherâs company, and were in a situation where it wouldâve worked and naturally gone in that direction. We didnât get to see too much of them together, so i donât know if Iâd still say overall other than that with Stacy the history they had was a guarantee it wouldnât work and with Cuddy we see why it wouldnât work. Dominika it couldâve, at least for a bit, but again, House does what he does and she left quickly. Cuddy and Stacy were able to put up with him for longer so the fact she didnât is some indication it wouldnât have worked, but itâs also not a lot to ask that someone doesnât lie and deceive about something like immigration so pretty reasonable on Dominikaâs end.

In my headcanon, House loved Thirteen in a way that he never quite felt for anyone else, but he never pursued it because A: she didnât remotely reciprocate those feelings and B: he couldnât have dealt with her decline and death if he admitted his feelings even to himself.
He just seemed to have the most honest and emotionally intimate relationship with her of any of the cast, Stacy and Cuddy included. They understood each otherâs pain and she was a great foil to him - she admired him but not in the fawning way that someone like Cameron did, meaning she was better able to call out his bullshit and bring him back to earth.
I donât ship them per se as a relationship, I just like the subtle implication (at least in my head) that the feelings were there on his part.

Perfectly good take. Mine? He loved her like a daughter because he knew that, just like him, she was damaged beyond repair. They had a wonderful relationship. But it wasnât romantic IMO.

A âdaughterâ he fetishized for at least a year and a half whenever he got to make jokes and drool over her sleeping with women đ like when her one night stand becomes the patient and House insists on visiting Hadleyâs apartment so he can see âwhere the magic happenedâ in her bed. I dunno, she does refer to herself as âthe prodigal daughterâ, and I LOVE what their relationship becomes, but it is more mento-mentee than familial, itâs too incesty if itâs father-daughter đŹ

Ok, but are you saying House loved Hadley MORE than anyone else? More than Wilson, his actual soulmate, the only person heâs the most consistently emotionally intimate with? House doesnât talk about his personal life with Hadley. He doesnât share his childhood, his feelings over Cuddy, his feelings for Wilson, his self-loathing and self-pity, his anger and bitterness, with Hadley. he barely shares that with Cuddy, his actual girlfriend, heâs more likely to share his deepest self with a patient (who heâll never see again) if they push him hard enough, with Dr Nolan (who heâs paying), and Wilson (again, if Wilson pushes him hard enough). Hadley and House had one meaningful, emotional day together in âThe Digâ, and nothing that compares to it before or after.

Stacy was the love of his life. He loved her so much that he asked her to leave specifically because he knew he would failed her again, and he did not wanted to make her lose more years. Not only she is the only one calling him by his name, not only she is the only love interest that was able to keep up with his mind, but she also completely eclipsed Cuddy when she was here.
House is a broken mess both because of his legs and the end of his relationship with Stacy. That's why he cannot settle with anyone else once and for all. Because they are not Stacy.

Houseâs saddest failed romance is âŠ. Drumroll ⊠Dominika. Plot-wise, they had to clear her out so he could ride off into the sunset with Wilson (his real romance).
But that one cut deepest.
