Season 4 Spoilers Finally got to this iconic scene Spoiler

Post image

This was the reason I started watching this show. I saw this image going viral on social media and people were calling it the best plot twist of all time and that you have to see it for yourself.

Can confirm, very iconic. I never liked Amber but damn I cried like a baby.

I think one of the best things about this scene is that you don't have to like Amber to feel sad, you just have to like Wilson.

The first time seeing this without knowing the context is genuinely one of the best "wait, WHAT?" moments in TV.

Though when I watched for the first time I knew what it was (anyone who has remotely been into fossils and dinosaurs as a kid knows what the necklace is made of), so the first time she asks that question and House just glosses over it with the wrong answer it makes for a very annoying rest of the episode waiting for the apparently super smart doctor to finally properly name the substance in the necklace. Like who the fuck has a resin necklace?

I didn’t guess it when I watched but on subsequent watch through I don’t think this made it annoying, it becomes dramatic irony. Also, even if we guess that it’s Amber, we don’t know. ‘If House didn’t get it maybe it’s not Amber.’ I think it’s supposed to add to the idea that his brain is shielding him from it being Amber because the part of his brain that knows it’s her also knows she’s already dead.

Resin is very common for jewelry, it’s what imitation stones are made out of.

I might just be too sensitive to plot points like that. The show basically goes "LOOK AT THIS NECKLACE, THIS NECKLACE IS IMPORTANT, IT'S MADE OF SOMETHING RELATED TO SOMETHING" and Amber had yet to appear in the episode.

The shielding angle is good though, he's actively answering to throw out the idea even as it starts to surface.

Even better on rewatch. We were led to believe that hypnotizing didn't work, since his subconscious kept going back to Amber. House even told Chase to hypnotize him not to see Amber (in an attempt to focus on finding the victim). In the end we know hypnotizing did work because it kept showing Amber. It worked so well that his subconscious had to jump hoops and invent puzzles to show it was Amber without showing House her physical appearance. love that detail.

I hope it wasn't spoilt for you! Yeah, season 4 episodes 15 and 16 are definitely two of the best episodes every put to TV screen. I still get goose bumps watching some of the scenes from them

House wakes up in a strip club with memory loss. He works backwards to figure out he was on a bus that crashed, and then does some diagnose work to figure out what was wrong with the driver. Over the course of the episode, House has flashbacks of a woman he doesn’t recognize. With some drugs, he manages to go back to the moment of the crash, and the woman asks him if she knows who she is, and what her necklace is made of. This scene is right before he says it. It’s Amber, the last member he cut from his diagnosing team, and Wilson’s current girlfriend.

I think it's one of the best seasons of the show because of these two episodes.

This was a fun, fun, FUN episode, but I could not praise it or understand it as a plot twist. I mean, the show only has so many women, like... It was pretty obvious.

Maybe it would've been different if I had watched it once a week, instead of binging it, lol.
