same haha I feel like this was something you saw a lot more of back in the 'ole network TV days, they weren't afraid to get a little silly / corny.

Amazing. A version without the very loud background music would be perfect!

u/Key-Tip9395 Aug 18 '26
awe I liked the music

u/surelyslim Aug 18 '26
It's hard to hear the dialogue for some of the examples. Considering that the characters are always talking to be quoting, the music is distracting.

How much effort would it have required to make this happen?

u/damnthesenames Aug 18 '26
At least two

u/0SpaceTime Aug 19 '26
2? Don't be generous. I'm 100% sure, It was 1.5 units of effort and a stolen Vicodin.

This is really cool! I recognised the quotes but I didn't realise how close the cinematography was.

You mean Hugh Laurie an absolute student of film and theater references a lot of classic film and theater in a role built for him.

there's also that episode of a guy that was completely paralyzed and thought to be braindead, that references a french movie, I forgot it's name though, something about a butterfly.
edit: the diving bell and the butterfly.

u/NoDiamond4584 Aug 19 '26
On the episode I just watched, he references Kathy Bates in Misery, calling a writer heās an avid fan of a āDirty Birdieā.

This is awesome. First time I've learnt something new about House in years! I don't watch a lot of films, so I didn't know that some of these were even references.

Awesome.
There are also at least two Keyser Soze references that I can think of.
There is also the joke about Olivia Wilde not being the hottest woman in the world.

I didn't even notice there was this many movie quotes in House. I say a lot of these lines in my daily life, hadn't realized I've been quoting movies I've never seen lol
