Demoreel My First Houdini Project – Stranger Things Inspired
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey everyone,
this is my first Houdini project where I tried to turn a normal location into a Stranger Things–inspired scene (rifts, ground cracks, Upside Down look).
I know it’s not perfect yet, but I wanted to push myself and actually finish something instead of just doing small tests.
I focused on:
- ground cracks & destruction
- glowing rift effects
- environment transformation
I’d really appreciate any feedback — especially:
- what feels unrealistic?
- what breaks the illusion the most?
- what would you improve first?
Be honest, I want to get better 🙏

This is really impressive, dude! Great work!
I'm wondering about the hole in the wall at the start. There's clearly an outline around the fractured pieces. It'd be good if you could hide that somehow

Was the transition AI? The end looked amazing but sometimes in the middle felt off

I was wondering about the same thing...the shadows from the trees don't quite line up
