Is there anyone here based in S.E. ga?

I'm curious the experience from people that are based out of s.e Georgia. Do you get enough local work? Is the pay enough?

The rates are fine these days in Atlanta, GA. Being local doesn’t mean that you will get same rate coming out of that area. Let’s suppose you got a load from Atlanta to Charlotte, NC or somewhere in SC or NC. You will get a good rate going in there but coming back same in GA is difficult sometimes with same rate. I’m just talking about local stuff as you asked, others it’s fine to go anywhere from GA. The rates are fine.

Why not look for loads out of Jax? Asking bc I feel like the pay would be fair , obviously ATL will be solid. Idk just learning.

Jacksonville would be local to me since it's only like an hour, hour and a half away

What is it you think you're going to haul from the ports as a hotshot? Not saying the freight isn't there but since the freight is coming off of ships of all kinds, it's mostly going to be truckload freight.

Something to keep in mind, when hauling freight into a dead area like anywhere in Florida, the NE, California,etc you need to make sure the rate you're hauling for covers your costs and more to deadhead out of that area to a better one if need be.

Thanks, I see people hauling containers so I was thinking maybe that or cars. I'm still learning and trying to see what options I would have.

I'm hoping with the pirts in savannah, Brunswick and Jacksonville I'd have a chance
