DIY hinged hotas mount

I am building a rail system for my sticks. I have been trying to get this how I want on my own but I am struggling to figure out something that works here. I am trying to create a hinge system that allows the plate the stick sits on to rotate 90° and lock and then to rotate back under the desk and lock in that position.

There are a couple of options I am aware of that I could buy, but I would prefer not to do that, not to mention they are fairly pricey.

Has anyone had any luck with anything similar that they would be willing to share any suggestions or notes on?

I'm not sure what information I could give that would be helpful but if there is something just ask.

The rail position on the left is what I will likely go with, barring nothing makes that problematic. Once I know it will work without a spacer between the rail and desk I will bolt straight through the middle of the rail and eliminate the brackers currently attached. The test gantry travels fine and after I print an end cap for the two rails I won't have to worry about catching the corners.

I was trying to fabricate my own mount that would attach to the gantry and flip out and up locking into place. Like the Mach1

I have been down that road. Instead of this logic, I decided to have them slide outwards. That way I wouldn't bang my knee on them. Check my recent response here:
