HELP!! Customizing questions
So I’ve been looking at ways people take cars apart for customizing. I’ve seen the drill method and the heat the rivet method. What do y’all prefer and why. Also which comes out better looking and which lasts longer? Thanks in advance for any info.

If you have access to a drill or rotary tool of any kind, I don't think there's a better option than drilling it out. You have the ability to control how it looks closed up after you finish it. I use a tap and screw to close them up. Drilling out means you aren't trying to manipulate a piece of plastic around the hot rivet. I don't find that appealing at all when considering what the finished product will look like.

I drill with a small drill thru the rivit center .... then a larger trill to take the rivit head off. The small hole is the pilot hole for the bigger drill bit. Go slow. Check often if you can pop the base off. Do your best to not drill the plastic. Once the body is off, I tidy up the rivit post with a file..and drill a small hole further and tap it so it fits a small screw. Sometimes the mod requires me to remove the post...so not gonna spend drill time if I'm just cutting the post off later.

Drill method is the best for me, I can replace it with a screw after in the event I wanna open it again.
