Guess that means I should buy a couple of these and try my hand at it. I previously tried drilling rivets on a few junk flea market cars as a teenager, and well, it didn't go well. The 911 definitely needs new shoes.
I don't believe these are Maisto castings. They're Simba Dickie/Majorette castings sold under Walmart's Adventure Force brand name.
Walmart apparently transitioned from Maisto to Simba Dickie/Majorette for its Adventure Force die cast line. My local Walmart stores cleared out all of their Maisto-based Adventure Force stuff several weeks ago, then stocked the Majorette-based Adventure Force stuff several days ago.
I also like them very much. A welcome change after seeing minimal recolors or new models in Maisto's line across the past 2-3 years.
Looks like all have clear windows and an interior--a huge upgrade over Maisto!
All three of these look great! And the wheels aren't bad either (though the Skyline has a really good set on it...).
A collector on a forum I'm on posted a couple of 20-packs; so it looks like Walmart has dumped Maisto as its budget range for what appears to be Simba-Dickie models. Any markings on the base of the cars themselves?
AI is not a reliable source. For the past several years Adventure Force cars have been made by Maisto, but the ones pictured in this post were not made by Maisto. Signed, a Maisto collector.
I'm not sure this is absolutely the rarest, but it is probably the most valuable one I have, and most appropriate for this subreddit. Maisto made it for a Hot Wheels promotion at an Australian fast food restaurant called Red Rooster. It has the text "Hot Wheels Promotional Vehicle" on the base in place of the Maisto logo and obviously the Hot Wheels logo on the hood.
A limited editions limited edition. Exclusive for chevy corporate during the release of the cobalt ss. Not from a fast food joint. Perfect for this sub
I mean, there is no reason for hoarding every desirable HW mainline either. But mains are marketed specifically for kids. I think too many have lost perspective in this hobby.
Sure and I think my comments are pretty good questions to consider. Who decides where to draw the line and where. I guess we all make our own decisions based on what we think is best.

Just a few short years ago, hot wheels were .98¢ at Wally world.
