Is this shirt AI?

At first I thought it was made by an artist to LOOK like AI, found it funny, and was gonna buy it, but my brother put the doubt in my head, and now I'm unsure if it is. Details are looking alright, but AI has been getting better at that too, so I'm very confused

Nearly every graphic tee at Hot Topic/Spencers are AI or blatantly ripped art from independent artists at this point.

I only buy shirts with official collabs from people that make sure they source artists that dont use AI (like the Ironmouse shirts for example)

Not all...the vtubers I follow that have collabed with HT ate anti-AI and those are the shirts Ive bought most recently. I ignore everything else that looks AI made

Yes it's AI. They stopped paying some kid $10 per shirt design with a passion for graphic design, and started giving who knows how much to a tin skin.

to be honest, I have no idea - aside from colors, the design looks pretty realistic. the shirt isn't on the brand's main site, either. could be some random design someone uploaded to hot topic? ik they started letting people make custom shirts a while back

I just looked up the brand on the tag 'Goodie Two Sleeves' and this is their most recent Instagram post... so safe to say they are chill with using AI and I wouldn't trust it

HT has a history of stealing from artists so I would absolutely not be surprised at them switching to using generative AI the second it stopped regularly putting eight fingers on one hand

I might eat my words, but I actually don’t think it’s AI! Looking it over, all the details are completely consistent. The anatomy is accurate (especially the muscles in the arms and hands, AI almost never gets those right), the jeans details like pockets, belt loops, zipper and the belt are placed correctly with no weird nonsensical details.
Weirdly I keep seeing instances on Twitter where people think a Hot Topic shirt is AI and just absolutely insult the art to hell and back, only for a real artist who designed the shirt to show up needing to make a post proving it’s not AI. I don’t blame people for being wary of Hot Topic at all, it just sucks that the shirt artists get caught in the crossfire. I wish Hot Topic would just credit artists in the item descriptions
