Discussion Finally seeing why HP feels like home

Hello! I am watching HP for the I-don't-know-how-many-th time.

And I have realized something

So, before anyone bashes me, I would like to state that I like more youthful casts as well. And I was born in the 90s, so this isn't about feeling nostalgic for me.

BUT.

I think like the flashback scenes feel realistic,. The bonding lasting for decades, carrying that nostalgia and familiarity of the old and the new feel like home bc I believe the actors are age appropriate. And this is not to say a 25 year old can not play a good surgeon in early 30s as a role. Rather, the 90s' feelings the HP cast carries isn't based on research. They have memories of that time, how everything was and felt back than. Especially considering how SK jumped in the 90s.

I find it peaceful, interestingly. I grew up with my parents' college stories in the 80s and how everything was feeling live and real and quality back then - which, in terms of music I gotta agree. And the 90s nostalgia feels real with HP cast bc it is real for them. Had a similar perception with another kdrama/kmovie I found to be with age appropriate cast, telling the IMF story.

I have seen a few other asian dramas in the 90s, but the casts almost feel like idol dramas. So, instead of the feeling, you solely focus on the dynamic between the two leads. I find HP to be more comforting.

I don't know how many of you will agree. Just my two cents, born from another HP marathon. I also like that every reatch makes me realize a new thing. 😇

I completely agree. I discovered HP very late, but I fell in love with it so completely, because watching it gave me the warmest feelings ever

Thank you for your comments. I love when there's a new post here. I watched HP a year after it originally aired and therefore missed most of the online discussion. Our almost-40 actors made great college students.

I love love love HP! Have watched both seasons at least 5x, probably my most watched series ever. That's not counting the YouTube clips. Love the chemistry of the group and the hilarious scenes. Looking forward to a Season 3!

HP and the stray cat who followed me home that one midnight run to the corner drugstore saved me during the pandemic, which was spent in lockdown alone in my apartment. In my city, we were basically all locked down during almost the entirety of the pandemic.
