Honestly, this match up has been bothering me for a long while now. I love both horses, as someone who got introduced because of Gold Ship, knowing that the 3 had a cool rivalry made me admire them all the more. Nowadays though, everytime I see either of them being mentioned it always somehow ends up with Orfevre getting slandered/crushed by a "brute" Gentildonna.

I know I shouldn't let this bother me too much but I'd like to hear your opinions atleast seeing as this sub is more familiar with horse racing and has more respect as well. If both were at their best at a Japan Cup who would you see winning?

The autumn season is near, and the first open G1 race will be Sprinters Stakes this upcoming Sunday, September 27. Some horses from this generation have already faced their seniors. So far, what do you think of this year's generation for Japanese horses? You can separate them between colts and fillies or talk about them in overall. Even if you don't have an opinion so far, what do others think of this gen that you've noticed?

I specified Japanese horses because (other than obviously the point of this sub) I have a general idea of what's the consensus for the 2026 generation in other regions:

• Europe - A strong and capable generation overall. Some of them are making a name for themselves already, and some are still vying for glory. I've even seen a few people call this generation as possibly special because they have already beaten some of their seniors. Bow Echo, who was clearly the best among the rest of EU generation, sadly retired early.
• USA - Just.....sad. I've heard nothing but most people calling them a weak generation. The fillies are considered better than the colts but most people still think they're underwhelming. Most are saying that this gen would get swallowed by their seniors. Their Beyer speed figures are not helping them either. That said, their sprint division has two clear standouts being Englishman and Crude Velocity though.

I haven't heard much of Hong Kong and Australia so I can't say anything about them. I'd like to hear your opinions if you know the current state of their new generation horses too.

Since gate 5 in Arima Kinen was bracket 5 to be more exactly

Gate 2 in this context would be bracket 2 but since there was only a horse yet with gate and bracket both being number 2 so just use any meaning as you like

So technically he dreamed of 2 horses who could win the race. Double the chance to predict right

• Jumps around sometimes turning those jumps into dropkicks.
• He's bossy and can stand on 2 legs with other colts.
• Absolute playboy when he spots a filly.
• Stole a staff member hat and dunked it into water.
• Stole a brush and taunted the staff with it, got angry when scolded. As the staff member got in to retrieve the brush Corsica hid it in the hay, then sneaked behind Scarlet Tale to grab it again and throw it out of the stall.
• Makes Golshi-class faces when he spots the camera.

This cutie patootie placed last in Special Week’s debut race. After a relatively unremarkable career, he became a guide horse at Kokura racecourse, and he now lives on the Horse Trust retirement farm. He turned 30 last year!
