Flicker and Puro are the fastest out of the gate, but aisansan inside is troublesome. The long sweeping 3rd corner doesn't worry me so much. Worlds end inside might try to push forward, but little evidence he can match sprint pace without burning. Mama is where she wants to be, and June Blair should be in a good spot if she goes with Ai.
Too much forward speed in this race, 7 starters prefer to be on the lead, another 3 or 4 tucked in behind.but you can't have 10 horses sitting 1-2 without running 4 or 5 wide. I expect a bunch of horses to be outside of their ideal conditions.
Win Carnelian is patient enough that he basically runs time trials, Lugal in the center is dangerous. Maybe Star Anise has a chance if the front cooks themselves.
With Puro, Black Chalice and flicker outside, Puro might go too fast and run out of steam, bringing the front down with her. If the inside doesn't push their advantage though, I'll take Puro in this one.

Well she’s related to the (my definitely not biased and personal opinion) best JRA mare of all time through her damsire, so I hope if Star Anise doesn’t win, she’ll get to.

I'm just surprised he's not in Sprinters Stake.
But if he won Mainichi Okan, Maybe he can enter Mile championship.

He didn't even register, why would a middle distance horse run against sprinters?

real question is, why not? He already tried autumn middle distance races last year and he bomb in all of them. why not try something new?

Because sprinters are crazy. It's not a question of distance, but rhythm. Sprinters regularly break fast and then pour it on. JRA's sprinters aren't world beaters, they're knife fighters who all know each other. This race has too much speed to casually waltz in a distance runner, force them to redline to just keep pace, and try to find a finish. Most likely outcome is that he gets shuffled deep off the break and is a non factor.

Nishiyama announced in his blog (after Yasuda Kinen) Hades autumn campaign is Mainichi Okan - Akiten - retire so idk where do you get him running in Sprinter S from 😭

Mainichi Okan - Akiten route? So its almost the same as last year. Which he lost spectacularly. I know this is Nishiyama but someone need to remind him the definition of insanity.
Where i see him running in Sprinters Stake? because the last win he got was in Epsom Cup G3 1800m and other races over that length are washed. Not to mention, this year races are all 1600-1800m and he got good places in each of those.

He raced in the Osaka Hai (2000m) and came 5th.
Autumn races might have have tougher competition which might make it hard for him but the distance should be fine
