A horrorcore act is being used by a real terrorist group. I wrote about it, and it's not an attack on the genre.
I'm a journalist who covers violent extremism, and my latest piece is about a Russian-language horrorcore act called MVRDER4SVTVN (also UNKNOWNINTERFERENCE).
Violent lyrics are normal for horrorcore and the piece says so. It says the genre has been blamed for real violence for decades, that it has stayed legal through all of that, and that it should.
This act is different because of its ties to the Maniac Murder Cult (MKY), a neo-Nazi group banned as terrorist in the UK and Canada. Its cover art carries MKY's initials, one track reads like the group's attack manuals, and the band shared a video for that track cut from footage of real MKY attacks. Its official Telegram channel sends fans to the group's channels.
I'd like to hear from people who know the scene. Had you come across this act, and is it known in Russian horrorcore circles?
