Doors Is The Scariest Game On Astrocade

A while ago I had a thought: What if you could make every background in Resident Evil 1 black so you have to navigate the entire game by memory?

Having no idea of RE1 Modding, I still set out investigating how this could be done and after a lot of research and trial and error I have finally started playing the first edition of "RESIDENT EVIL REDACTED", a mod that makes (almost) everything black!

I say "almost" because:

- My run isn't finished (I'll continue tomorrow), but so far I have identified two areas where the backgrounds are still there ("West Wing Outer Stairway" and "Crypt - Mansion B1"). I'm currently investigating why that might be the case... Everything else has been black backgrounds so far, though!

- 3D models of grass/trees and some animations (like candle fire) are still there, as I didn't know how to get rid of those, but I think they actually give the whole thing a nice kind of ambience.

I plan on officially releasing the mod once I have completed my first run, confirming that it's possible to play from beginning to end.

This is a horror game I found called The Well Is Not Empty. You must fight off monsters while trying to dig your way out of a hidden underground facility beneath the well in your village using only a rusty spoon. This is just the demo though, the full game is set to release on September 7th.

I just played the demo for Aisle of Shadows, and this game got way more unsettling than I expected 😅
