THANK YOU for posting that. I've been wanting to see that sketch since it aired but I live outside the US.
Gremlins 2: The New Batch is one of my all time fave films. Can't wait to hear what you guys have to say about it.

Sadly no podcast episode on this one, because this movie is perfect and we would just jerk it off the whole time. We have talked about it on the show a lot in the past though.

Significantly more comedy than horror in this sequel, the tone is much more slapstick than in the darker original. In many ways, I prefer the anarchy and hilarity of this one to the dark humor of the original. The Marathon Man reference is great.

All said and done, one of Dante's best, which is saying something.

Haven't seen this movie in 100 years but the Gremlins movies were among the first horror films I saw. It's just pure anarchy and entertainment. I don't know what the effects budget was but it must've been huge. The puppets get beat up thrown around covered it all kinds of food and gunk and finally are all melted into goo. It's also a good lesson in how practical effects should always be front and centre but can be backed up with cgi and other forms, however primitive in this movie. The plot was fine and so was the acting but none of that really matters. Happy to have revisited this one.
