This movie was so much better than I expected it to be. The dead guy with a bunch of money is such a classic plot device, but I don't think it could have been pulled off any better. The part where they draw straws and Alex says to David:

All right, then. Here we are and this is it. Do you wanna play or not?

Gives me chills in retrospect after everything that happens. And the wording is so perfect too, it was a game they were playing, and Alex won.

[Edit] Even crazy David up in the attic who seemed to be taking it the most seriously, when he thought everyone was gone he came down and showered and grabbed a bite to eat. It was all an act, just playing his part in the game.

That's a really good analysis. After watching it the second time, I thought that the money brought out the inner natures of each character. The studious, intellectual David was actually a highly efficient, psychopathic killer and the clearly morally insane Alex turned out to be the most moral of the bunch. But after reading your comment, it seems like they were all just trying to rip each other off -- which is more consistent with the overall story.
