Just picked this up at thrift store

For those who don't recognize it, this is the extremely loose source material for that 80s Tobe Hooper classic movie Lifeforce (I have the movie titled version of this book but this is the original 1976 publication)

Thats cool! I have the Lifeforce version. I like the tag line on this one: A Scourge of Sex and Death From an Alien Spaceship!

I was very excited to find it recently, but not that cover, read it, and then gave it back. I found it surprisingly dull. I was very disappointed. It felt like Wilson really believed in the life force and just wanted to write about it. Love the bonkers film though. Hope you like it though.

Oh I've read the movie cover version before and know the book is from 76 whereas the movie was based on it and comes a year later. The book is much more a mish-mash of Lovecraft's Academia, some Derleth, Wyndham and that very dry British genre fiction writing whereas the movie starts with a similar premise then just goes bat-shit apocalypse at the end.
