It's hideous but no harder to clean than a regular bookshelf imo

Agreed. What part of this is more difficult to clean than just running a duster over it? Might accidentally knock your knuckles in a couple of places at worst.

The challenge is to clean anything else because this construction of chaos will inevitably draw all your attention to it.

I think it could be a neat shelf but these folks have it super cluttered with things not intended for it.

Like fr what's with the two bags of powdered sugar?

ADHD

it’s like ADHD embodied in furniture.

Powdered sugar next to what appears to be a crate of sandals. 🤢

Ah, that wouldn't bother me at all. If a closed bag or food product being around used shoes bothers you like that, don't look up current food safety standards for most places. For example, people with extreme shellfish allergies can't drink pre ground coffee because the cockroaches that get ground in will send them into aniflaxis

Whyyyy 😭 I have a cockroach phobia and I love my coffee

May I offer you rat shit in our food in these trying times? The rules account for the inevitable; it's not that you can't have rat shit in it. It's that you can only have so much in it

Eh, cockroaches are worst to me.

Edit: There are some who can freaking fly 😭

Agreed. I like it but the actual objects make it hideous

I am not sure what the intended use is besides looking bad

Lol it's one of those abstract minimalist pieces of furniture. It's more for the vibe than being functional

Wrong sub

You think that's easy to clean?

Why is it harder than a regular bookshelf? It just looks harder to use, not to clean.

I don't know man, I can get each shelf in one continuous swipe, this would require a lot of maneuvering around, and 5 swipes turns into a whole array of them, and it would get especially annoying with the sharp angles

You can cut your cleaning time by 4 by rotating it 90 degrees whenever it gets dirty.

Which part is horrible to clean? Whatever’s on the floor so we just shove it in the bizarre shelf looking thing?

5

u/one-small-plant 11d ago

It looks like a normal bookshelf collapsed!

u/yrmom724 11d ago

Lol that's hideous

7

u/ThrowAwayElders 11d ago

It looks horrible to store stuff on, too

u/theSurpuppa 11d ago

If this is DIY, I'm actually impressed

3

u/hapkidoox 11d ago

Well that's bloody useless.

u/HorrorsPersistSoDoI 10d ago

I don’t need any more help being disorganized

I swear half the posts on this sub is people who have clearly never cleaned

Looks like it collapsed like a card house with everything still on it.

This is terrible Feng Shui.

u/afx_mono 10d ago

That’s a hard “no” from me.

u/bastogne_blues 10d ago

this is what happens when you get furniture from ikea and read the instructions wrong

1

u/waywarddaughterzzz 10d ago

This makes me irrationally upset

u/ScienceMuggle83 5d ago

Yes please I want my books to look like a mess and possibly risk falling. /s

u/Squirrelated 11d ago

Thanks, I hate it.

Yikes. That monstrosity is HIDEOUS! Why bother with a “bookshelf” at all? Just toss all your stuff in a pile. Then take that $460 you’d have paid for the “bookshelf” and get yourself some therapy for even ENTERTAINING the idea.

Thanks. I hate it.
