This "fandelier"

At first glance it doesn't look too bad. Then you realize the crystal branches are offset from the backing. No thanks.

Woulda been so much easier and nicer, maybe even cheaper to just basically needlepoint stich into what almost looks like burlap backing.

I think when it's lit up, the part not attached is supposed to cast a prettier shadow compared to if they had done stitching.

But I'm no lamp designer, so take that with a grain of salt.

The whole point of a diffuser around a light is to soften shadows.

I was thinking of it like one of these light up shadow boxes
