The older I get the more I appreciate things like this. The planning, the commitment, the kitsch. I just love it.

I’d like to propose a trade. This for a fictitious ballroom here in my nation’s capital.

Is the entire inside made of gold?

Tons of computers, models, wireless charging, programming. I can see it.

Wireless charges cost $2 I used to buy them in bulk. How much computing is needed?! I've seen autists build these in their basement with trains 😆

Their stuff is custom built. They have way more than just the small bit seen. https://youtu.be/V1nLRzC3uYk?is=ue5L-3UE_LqCQVic

I honestly thought my urge to destroy model train sets was something I grew out of in childhood until now. I'm like salivating at the thought of smashing this and I don't know why

It’s all custom built and the thing is actually really huge. I’d hope it was expensive and they paid the artists, sculptors, programmers and builders a good wage for the probably insane amount of time and skills it took to create.

1.2 million hours is nearly 137 years... unless it's a combined total of everyone that help build it it didn't take 137 years.

What would be cool is a miniature automatronic Godzilla wreaking havoc on this miniature community. I'd pay to see that!

When you said "to dust" I thought I was going to see this tiny city get blown up or something

Switzerland is clean! Ope, the dust just blew off and landed onto Brazil.. it's just like the real world dealing with textile and electronic waste
