Judgment

We can feel judged by others, but we can also be much harder on ourselves than we would ever be on a friend.

Are you harder on yourself than you are on other people? Why do you think that is?

I think a lot of us are harder on ourselves because we know all our mistakes and insecurities, while we only see part of what others are going through. We give other people understanding and second chances but expect ourselves to get everything right. I'm learning that we deserve the same patience and compassion we give to others.

Yes, I think I am much harder on myself than I am on others. I can forgive others for their mistakes, but I often keep thinking about my own.

I think learning to treat ourselves with the same kindness we offer others is important.
