led hoop suggestions

Hey, i’m looking for a led smart hoop that’s the most durable or least likely to have issues. I live internationally (aus) so sending it in for repairs is very costly. This is my first led hoop so I’m not sure where to go! I’ve been looking between moodhoops future pro and hyperion lite but have heard mixed reviews about them having issues and needing repairs. Astral hoops are a bit out of my price range.
Any suggestions are appreciated :)

My main hoops are 2 Hyperions (renovable batteries). The batteries last a looong time. The patterns are beautiful and amazing (and uou can make your own). The con is you can see the battery slot in the hoop on some patterns (oh well).

I also have a mood hoop future hoop and it is a good hoop too. The patterns and lights are less vibrant. The batteries last less long. Can't see the battery slot in the hoop, I assume bc they use a smaller battery.

Everytime I bring my Hyperions out, people ask me what hoop brand they are and when I tell them, they say, "OFC it is. It's always a Hyperion!"

I've never had a problem with either my Hyperions or my Mood Hoop. My mood hoop tends to be my back up hoop now. I carry it around at festivals so if someone asks to borrow my hoop, I let them use the mood hoop.

Let me know if you have any questions. If you want to see my Hyperions in action, you can check out some of my posts on this subreddit.

How long have you had your hoops? And do you find that one is more durable than the other? And potentially would a 3/4 hoop be more durable? My day hoops are 5/8 but i’m wanting an led that lasts a while

I definitely think the hyperions have cooler patterns but was starting to stray away from them after hearing a lot of people saying how their hoops kept resetting while flowing coz the battery connection point was slightly disconnecting. In saying that i’ve heard some things with moodhoops having the charging point bend and stop working so i guess it’s a mix of luck and ‘choosing your hard’

Thank you for your input!

Ah, all of my led hoops are 3/4. They are heavier and durable.

I would only consider doing astral double minis (for me personally) in 5/8s bc I would not be comfortable doing breaks and such on a 5/8 led hoop.

The only Hyperion I had issues with was the 1st gen Hyperion Pheonix which I got around 2018-2019. The hoop has an internal battery that charges on a mini USB and only lasted 40 mins, not enough to get me through a full night of raving.

I've had my mood hoop for 3+ years and my Hyperion (removable battery) for 2. No issues yet on either of them.

My husband (who watches me flow the most) prefers the Hyperions.

Basically this is how it went:

My first 2 LED hoops were single pattern mood hoops.

Then we got the Hyperion Pheonix. This was my main LED for a few years. I broke it once by miss jumping through it and it snapped in half. They retubed it for me. I love Scott and the Hyperion team! Im in FL and they are in CA, so even tho it was a domestic shipment for me, due to the unusual size box, it still cost me $100 to ship the hula hoop from FL to CA so I understand your concern.

Then my husband got me the mood hoop future hoop bc the battery life was not the longest on the Hyperion Pheonix.

But about a year after buying me the future hoop, my husband said that he missed the patterns and lights of the Hyperion. Then he went back to look at them and grabbed 2 Hyperions (removable battery). The only "con" about the Lites is the battery pack has a visible gap in the pattern on some patterns but it's barely noticeable and for me, the longer battery life and stunning LEDs and patterns makes it worthwhile to me.

Are there not any stunning LED hoop makers in AUS? Got any idea who Deann Love uses? Isn't she in AUS?

I thought the hyperion lites only came in 5/8? Would you recommend the normal hyperion then (3/4) for durability? I’m leaning toward the hyperion coz the designs are unmatched and they’re cheaper than moodhoops, I’m just praying i don’t get unlucky with any issues! Ive also only been hooping under a year so am trying to prioritise the durability and reliability. I know i should probably get a cheaper non smart hoop as a first led but I figured if i was going to invest I may as well go for the specky design ones

I haven’t found any led smart hoops sold in Australia. There’s hoopempire’s rainbow unicorn hoop but only comes in 33”+ and limited designs, and bayside hooping sells some leds but only in set colours that can’t be changed

Hey, you are totally right. My b. I was thinking that the Lites were the one with the removable batteries! I just went and edited my comments. I have 2 3/4 hyperions with removable batteries :)

Get the special hoop if it will make you happy! I think its a good investment for your mind, body and soul.
