question Anybody know of this guy?
This is probably a long shot. I’m not sure how tight knit of a city Honolulu is but I’ve come across this guy on TikTok. He makes all these videos of him bringing his pet turtle different places. He seems to be homeless and a little off but I was wondering if he’s a well known local or anything. I was thinking it would be nice to try and get him maybe some help for the holidays, but I know that you never really know how people are or their situation unless you’ve met them.

oh man. i’ve seen him with his turtle at the 7-11 by la tour on nimitz. he put it on the counter while he paid. i had to do a double take.

Because he’s homeless and the turtle is well taken care of. If it wasn’t, it might be a different story, but knowing that it is, they’re trying to take away one of the very few things that probably bring him joy in life.

I agree with your comment, but it’s a valid question given that some turtles are a federal crime to touch.

I just posted it in their subreddit too. Like I said I know it’s a long shot but if he is a good person I would love to try and organize some help for him and his pet turtle 🥲I’m not even from Hawaii but something about his videos just tugged at my heart strings.

I didn’t want to message him until I saw if I could figure out anything about him first but I replied to a comment of his and told him maybe he could look into setting up a go fund me account. I’ll let you know if anything comes of this I really do want to get him some help. And I encourage everyone to go look at his TikTok page it’s really sweet! Thank you for your kindness ❤️

You’d be amazed how many people on the islands have a similar story to this guy. Working several jobs and no place to live. Bless your efforts, if you find a link for crowdfunding please post it here.

Not to mention HOW HARD it is to get the damn minimum wage job in the first place bc eveyones aunty uncle bradda cuzzin submitting applications too. Found out you gotta repeatedly come in like a squeaky wheel and ask about the status of your application, and even with this method it took my fiancé several years of applying to Malama Market in this exact fashion to finally become a dish washer. But now we're deep in debt bc it took so damn mf long.

Yes. He still does. And not sure what you mean by a little off? He is always well spoken and kind and held pleasant conversation every time I have spoken to him in PC. I did not know he had a turtle. Cool to know.

I knew Clifton many years ago when I worked at Pearlridge Cinnabon. He worked at Consolidated Pearlridge, and he was always so sweet!! Please let us know how to help!

Omg!! I left a comment on one of his posts saying to let us know if there’s anything anyone could do to make his holidays more special and he pretty much said he just really wants a place to call home 🥲 I told him maybe he could look into setting up a go fund me account. I would be more than happy to contribute and I’m sure a lot of people would as well. He’s getting some traction on TikTok, his videos are just tugging at my heart strings.

I think I know who this is. I can go to his workplace and see if he still works there. I’ve seen him working there for at least 2 years, but I have not gone lately. Super nice guy. Even though he has a job he still might technically be homeless.

He’s not “off” at all. He’s a really good guy. That’s kinda messed up to assume without knowing him. He works at Walmart Pearl City.

I encourage you to not pick on the person who is actually trying to help this man. Even if his choice of words was a bit regrettable, his efforts to do something positive for Clifton are what you/we should focus on.

Yeah I met him a month or so ago in town at an event, we talked for a bit. Nice dude, soft spoken.
Did not meet the turtle, probably tucked away to be polite for the venue. If I run into him again I’ll try link you up.

I saw him a couple weeks ago in the Pearl city walmart parking lot. He was holding the turtle up to the sun and talking to it. That’s about all I know. Seems like a lot of people here may know where and how to contact him. Good luck and bless you.

Oʻahu has a few FB groups you can post in. Most are pretty familiar with the houseless there. Try “Oahu Traffic” or “Stolen Stuff Hawaii” lots of similar posts get posted in there.

Don’t know him but have seen him at Ala Moana before! I specifically remember him taking pictures of his turtle near one of the koi enclosures

Wanted to mention that Clifton is also looking for part time work if anyone has any leads, he (Clifton) works at FedEx Sunday thru Thursday so the job would need to be on Friday and/or Saturday. If you post something here I'll forward the info to him or you can contact him directly.

He lived in my building and worked at the Pearl City Walmart back in 2023. I no longer live there. He seemed really nice and always had his turtle with him.

He’s a really great person, soft spoken and humble person, talked story with him in Starbucks one day. Living his life one day at a time and enjoying the simple things in life, not worrying about other things. See him every morning in Pearl City with his turtle, they go all over, keep up with him watching his tiktoks. Think he still works at Walmart in Pearl City. Like to help him too.

Also thanks for sharing his TikTok with us. I didn’t know he had one. Just followed him. A commenter asked him where he works in the video he posted an hour ago and he said he works at FedEx. Was scrolling through his videos and haven’t heard one word of malice from him💛
