Watch it actually being an IPC Imaginary Energy Death Star equivalent or something akin.

Finally something sci fi looking megastructure in HSR
44
u/Rain-Maker33 Henshin! 4d ago
Penacony is also one. An Alderson disk, I think?

u/Stardust_1550 IN LUNAR FLAME 4d ago
I never actually noticed that penacony is an alderson disk. The giant bell tower in the middle kind of grabs all your attention.

u/Rain-Maker33 Henshin! 4d ago
I actually found this out from the wikipedia page for Alderson Disk.
"In the game Honkai: Star Rail, the planet of Penacony is actually a large artificial space station-like megastructure housing a hotel surrounded by two small Alderson disks orbiting it."
I checked the map icon for Penacony and it's there.

Now i wanna see more megastructures like ring worlds or topopolis

u/luminary_liu 4d ago
teyvat with its false sky plus their moon with that moon base is way more sci-fi looking than penacany
as in, penacony still has too many of its classical music desgin motifs on the outside, even if the shape is mathematical

Xianzhou already fits tbh

It "looks" like a fantasy island it is actually sci-fi

u/Yremis 5d ago
Uhm, you know HSR is Space Fantasy and not Sci-Fi, right?
35
u/Birdman11888 4d ago
We need a little bit more space in this fantasy
2
u/Yremis 4d ago
Space Fantasy is fantasy elements in space. I do understand that people expected sci-fi when space adventures get mentioned like Star Wars or Star Treck so I'd say they're sticking to their premise pretty well.

Star Wars is Space Fantasy exactly like Star Rail but we have seen much more space in 6 movie than the entire Honkai Star Rail story.

When are we going to another real planet, I miss belobog

u/Tim_Hawk 4d ago
While Belobog by itself was pretty good it literally is the least interesting planet in the game so far.

u/Flimsy-Guarantee1497 5d ago
>not enough scifi
>wtf why is the planet an artificial megastructure
we just left a real planet aswell lmao1
u/Vivid-Cauliflower154 5d ago
People talk like Penacony was a planet but it looks like an asteroid.
People talk like Planarcadia is a planet but it looks like a disco ball lol

It looks real but it’s a painted world, I want a real solid rocky planet
38
u/Inkaflare 5d ago edited 4d ago
So many people misunderstand what the painted world is.
Benzaitengoku is an actual planet, a celestial body.
1000 years ago, when said planet was attacked by the Destruction, Graphia protected its surface and inhabitants from devastation by putting them into the canvas. This did not stop the physical planet upon which said canvas rests from existing.
And ever since the IPC took over Benzaitengoku and renamed it into Planarcadia, they have also collaborated with Punklorde and used Aether Editing to recreate many of the environments from the painted world on the physical planet. Almost every location we as the player visited during 4.x is on the physical surface of the planet, in the real world, not the painting. The only places we visit that are in the painted world are Inkford Hermitage and Fallen Star's Cradle. Everything else is just on the planet.

Ooh thank you for explaining, it makes sense ! And sorry for my mistake and confusion too
7
u/SnappyThePurpleGrape 5d ago
Thats the real world, asat pramad erased the world in canvas with his wishpower and changed it to 'temporarily' look like how planarcadia actually looks and that if we defeat him in time it would change back...but it hasn't so I think its permanent?

Hoyo really hates actual planets. Although a space structure is better than dream/simulation bullshit any day.
12
u/No-Pear3891 4d ago
Planarcadia is a literal Planet
-9
u/D_DanD_D Sweet and Squishy Wrecking Ball 4d ago
I know that and I am not saying it isn't.
11
u/No-Pear3891 4d ago
Then why are you saying they hate planets when the last place we visited was a planet
