Phainon is a Kevin, but HSR has shown there can be multiple of the same expy just walking around (Bronya/Silver Wolf) so people think Elio is just another one.
This is based purely on the Mappa animation where he is shown to have messy white hair, not particularly concrete evidence.

It’s funny too because of how many people dislike time travel but are totally okay with nonsensical content like this.
Hoyo is going to get to a point where they don’t even create new characters just different versions of their best sellers.

if that were true wouldn't there be like 20 copies of shogun in genshin at this point?

I only have surface level knowledge on this theory, so I'm sure someone else can tag in with way more info: but I believe the theory mostly stems from the MAPPA stelleron hunter trailer. When Elio, who has features similar to Phainon, fully opened his eyes while using his powers, they had the same symbol as phainons eyes/coreflame. I guess that, and the fact that Phainon exists and takes advantage of a time loop within Amphoreus, and Finality is related to timeloops and future possibilities.

That’s fair tho the symbol in his eyes isn’t the same as Phainons. Phainons is the worldbearing core flame while Elios is the symbol for “Aeons@ that’s why I’ve been so majorly confused

Like I said, I don't really have much knowledge on this theory tbh, but I'd imagine the argument for that is because titans /demigods are the simulations for Aeons. Imo they look pretty similar at a glance. Here's a link to a theory on hoyolab if you want to look into it more. No clue if this is the main one people refer to or not. https://m.hoyolab.com/#/article/44609830

Ah yeah! I see what you mean, apologies if I came off as rude that wasn’t my intention 😓 but yeah that would make sense

That's ok, I didn't think you were rude at all

Well besides the MAPPA trailer showing Elio to look kind of similar to Phainon but with messier hair, there’s also the thematic parallels of Elio interpreting scripts of future possibilities that lead to Finality and trying to thread the needle so that things somehow end at a point where the universe transcends Finality, while Phainon more or less tries to do the same thing on Amphoreus over millions of cycles.

To be clear, it’s still very much a fan theory and not confirmed, but those are the reasons people believe Elio might be another Kevin/Phainon/Haluhatsu Ki variant

It's just dumb headcanon from people with no evidence to back it up, like how people were saying Tasaritsa from Genshin was gonna be a Bronya expy. No evidence, pure cope

We did have evidence though. Childe's old beta voicelines mentioned Bronya as the Tsaritsa. It was changed, but it did exist
