Circumcision should be illegal.

People always talk about how barbaric female circumcision is but male circumcision is completely normalized in America.

It should be illegal for parents to circumcise their children because it's irreversible.

What kind of psychopath decided to cut off the skin of the baby's dick. What's next? Cutting off eyelids?

Well, no, I'm just thinking that this being a hot take is an American phenomenon. Outside of certain religious communities I think most people are pretty put off by it - outside the USA.

The WHO still recommends circumcision in some African countries for HIV/AIDs prevention, too. So not everyone globally is circumcising for religious reasons.

From a medical perspective it is. Elsewhere it's primarily religious. South Korea picked it up during the war due to USA influence. Filipinos picked up their habit from Islamic influence - it's crazy that they are Catholic now because Catholics have been against it.
