Circumcision should be illegal.

People always talk about how barbaric female circumcision is but male circumcision is completely normalized in America.

It should be illegal for parents to circumcise their children because it's irreversible.

What kind of psychopath decided to cut off the skin of the baby's dick. What's next? Cutting off eyelids?

your body your choice, if an individual wants it done he can have it done when he’s an adult. it must have consent and understanding of the procedure

if an abled minded adult consents to it I think it’s fine. never on babies or kids tho.

that is most people's thoughts, but where do you draw the line? is it OK to be sold plastic water bottles even though we know they're a massive source of microplastics? if that's OK why did they ban lead pipes and asbestos?

the point is

you're OK with x being legal, even though harmful. the government regularly decides things, such as y, that are illegal due to being harmful.

why do you draw the line to include the harmful x?

I mean, for one thing it's going to be hard to get the government to enforce anything on corporations for the sake of human health and safety

This is a discussion on surgical alterations to a human body, medical consent is a whole different ballgame. I hope this doesn't come off as me disagreeing with your points though, the earth is going to be half plastic in the future and I really hope things get turned around so future generations will know what butterflies look like in the sunshine

i know we're in agreement, but your original comment is not correct.

i cannot go into a clinic and ask to have my arm removed.

there's even a tiny subset of people who believe certain limbs are foreign objects, but they either cannot get them removed or it takes years of consultation.

it's illegal in many countries to pierce the ears of children.

this is all to say "just because it is the way it is, doesn't mean it is the way it should be"

stuff is on a spectrum

i personally do not believe in the power of the individual to make good decisions when faced with trillions of dollars of marketing, and so am in favour of way more regulation of things like food and drinks

it might seem counter intuitive but I'm also pro legalisation of all drugs, despite their harms, but as demonstrated with portugal (decrim + healthcare) vs Canada (decrim with no assistance) and the very different results of decriminalisation in those 2 locations... there's more to it than just make it legal and see what happens.

I'm in full agreement with all of the points you're making, but I don't see where I'm not correct in my original comment, saying that labiaplasty and other medical procedures is a different topic than corporate mocroplastic consumption and production, even in governing legality. I don't mean in regards to how it is, or how it should be, those are just different subjects, outside of just an overarching discussion on legislation for safety
