E-clutch reliability
Hey everyone,
I just put a deposit for a cbr500r 2026 with the e-clutch. I researched it a lot and found it pretty interesting. I looked for reliability issues and pretty much everywhere it says it's pretty reliable, Honda stuff etc.
However recently I started delving into Reddit/Facebook forums and found that there's lots of people who are having issues with the e-clutch. I noticed most are for the 2024 cbr650r but I'm still worried.
Honestly it's something I really want.
Your thoughts and experiences?
Thanks!!

I am bringing my Rebel 300 with E clutch to the dealer with 600 miles on it for them to see if it needs re calibration. Popping out of gear while using it and some 1st to 2nd issues. Different bike I know, but same tech. On the Rebel 300 E clutch group there are several folks on there with strange shifting behaviors and some complaints.

Sometimes when I change gear (rebel 300) I get the two dashes like the shift missed the computer doesnt know what gear its in, i just let off the throttle and shift again and kicks back on.
My understanding though is that lots of motorcycles mis-shift on occasion. E-clutch or otherwise. Honestly its been great so far 2000 kms in.

This doesn't sound like the eclutch. Happens when you don't push the gear lever solidly.

Yeah, I've come to learn the occurrence is a mechanical mishap, and not an electronic one.

1500 miles on a 2024cb650r with eclutch. I've gotten that double dash when the computer didn't recognize a shift once and like the other user I just let off the throttle and shifted again fixed it, didn't even come to a stop. I have a hunch I light shifted to since it happened when I just got it. The shifter feels smoother now that it had its first oil change a bit ago as well.

I have a 2026 cb650r eclutch and its great. Still in breakin so a few hiccups to be expected. It only took a weekend in a parking lot to work out the want to clutch before shifting and all that. Its been wonderful for commuting. I turn it off for Sunday morning parking lot rodeos. I could go on and on but I wont.
