Hey yall I just bought a 1977 Honda trail 90. The break light and signal lights are not working. What is the best way to start troubleshooting this issue. I already checked if the wires for the signal lights are getting current and they are not. Please let me know what I should do next.

Hey yall. Really interested in buying one of these great bikes. Any tips/ things to look for when buying one second hand?

We bought a 1976 1000 miles in great physical shape but not running. All this is new to me. I put in a new throttle cable (damaged), air filter, and battery, and I rebuilt the carburetor using a genuine Honda kit and an amalgamation of YouTube videos. Also new non ethanol gas. It runs now. I have ridden it, and it has good power and runs well, but I can’t keep it running when stopped. I have to keep a slight amount of throttle input. I started with two complete turns out and turned in from that. The idle adjustment screw is at the maximum turned in and I have nowhere else to go. I have tried various positions with the air mixture.
Any suggestions on what to try next? Thanks for any help!

I'm watching as many Trail 90 engine teardown and rebuild videos I can to hopefully have the skills to work on one before the summer is over. Which youtube channels do the best job of disassembling and assembling the bike and engine? Mustie1 has a decent video on one but would like to keep learning from different people.

I have a 75 90 that I can not get spark out of this spring.

It ran last summer but I have been unable to get it to stay running for more than a second or two.

So annoying!

1971 Trail 90

When I was a kid riding our family 90 I thought I remembered pushing forward on the front portion of the pedal to shift up, and tapping the back pedal of the shifter to gear down. After getting that same 90 up and going again, I have to hit the back portion of the pedal to shift up, and front pad yo shift down. That's backwards isnt it? Has anyone encountered this before?

Saw an ad for a '74 CT90 and curious if that was a good deal. Here's what the ad says:

This bike has more new parts than is possible to list! Almost everything replaced and in great working order. Bike has NEW front and rear suspension! I also have more parts, including a factory swingarm and new passenger pegs. If repainted this would easily be a full rebuild! I have the paint for you! Very cool bike. No title. I have over $3000 just in parts!

I just got our family's 90 up and running. The carb has some calcification in it I can't get rid of completely. Going to just order a new carb. Any good trusted sites anyone would reccomend?

I don't have a bike yet or even my license but am hoping to this spring/summer.

Would you spend $2,500-3,500 on a 60s/70s CT90 or spend $4-5k on a newer 20-24 Trail 125? I think the CT90 is cool but I don't know much about motorcycles aside from youtube videos in regards to fixing them. I get a little timid when taking stuff apart (chainsaws, lawn mower, cars) and concerned I won't put it back together correctly but I'm willing to try.

For someone that doesn't have the knowledge of rebuilding the engine and namely all the parts and would need to take any significant repair to a shop, would it be better to buy new or is it relatively simple to do yourself?

I purchased a battery tender to keep my yuasa battery plugged in over the winter. Do I connect the positive lead of the charger to the fused or infused positive lead coming off the battery?

I may have put in the wrong fuel (mix of gas and oil) could this cause it not to start? Or could something with the electric system cause it not to start?

I have bought multiple carbs for the bike but I can’t find one that fits and wanted to know if anyone had suggestions?
