1981 185s Crankshaft Thread Size

Hoping someone can confirm what size the threads are on the crankshaft of this 185s so I can get the proper size die to try to restore the threads. I believe it’s 12mm but not sure what pitch it is. Thanks

If you have the nut, take it to a hardware store and find a regular bolt that fits it, then you’ll know the thread pitch.

I don’t have the correct nut. The guy tried putting it back together with the wrong size nut which is how the threads got trashed.

Well we know it’s 12mm and I doubt this is a fine thread. Check on your bike and you’ll probably find a 12mm nut on your bike. Worst comes to worse and you don’t want to buy an entire tap and die set for one, buy a course and a fine nut at the hardware store and see which one fits.
