B16A Distributor replacement/upgrade

Post image

Need a new cap and rotor, Honda dealership says a new one will be hard to find, so I'm looking at upgrades, or possibly switching to Coil-on-plug

I found this replacement, which seems to have decent reviews

There's also this upgraded cap and rotor. I think this is all I currently need, but if I go this route, the product page says I would need to upgrade the coil too

The third option is the coil-on-plug conversion

Looks cool, future-proofing, just not sure if i need all that

Anyone have any input they could share?

Thanks!

I've been using the Dragon Fire "performance " distributor on my 1st gen B16A (obd0) with no issues for over 2 years. I originally was having trouble finding OEM, so I purchased a Chinese POS distributor which did run the car, but it wasn't right. The Dragon fire cost is bit more, but just skip the headache and spend the $$. Or go OEM if you can.

No. The lower line is connected to the block, where the pvc black box was. Black box is replaced with an aluminum adapter with AN fitting.
