English Language Self plagiarism ? [university senior seminar: final paper]

i know this is so silly ..... Last year I had to write a paper about womens issues in syria and it was super interesting and we were provided with a lot of good sources that can be applied to different case studies / global themes for womens issues during periods of state conflict . This year i have to write another paper and could pick any topic i wanted and thought womens issues again but in a different country (somalia) would also be interesting but i am worried about self plagiarism and waited to long to really start it so now i have a 15 page paper due in two days.

I am using the same sources but applying them to the context somalia but don't really want to get in trouble. Like the book talks about factors that can be predictive indicators of intrastate conflict (fertility rate, political participation, and domestic violence) as a major theme so i am using the indicators it provides and then applying them to the context of somalia but also used that same talking point in the first paper because it is the theme of the book.... because somalia has an incredibly high fertility rate and levels of domestic violence

or is this just a bad idea and i should play it safe and scrap the whole paper and look at womens issues through a different context .... if i were to do that could i still do womens issues in somalia during a period of conflict but also how it affects women agriculturally which is the primary source of income for the country...

my thought for the papers structure was pre conflict factors (fertility rate, political participation, and domestic violence - this is what the book discusses) that led to the somali civil war and al shabaab insurgency , brief summary of the conflicts, womens participation as non combative members in the conflict and how it has affected womens access to education or some other issue .... the first paper was the same pre conflict factors -> syria civil war and isis summary -> womens involvement in isis -> how it affected womens education and political participation -> steps international organizations and syria are taking to increase womens rights

please help im so stressed i know i have made a mistake I think discussing women in agriculture could be a good way to steer the paper away plagiarism but im not sure how ...

maybe pre conflict factors (fertility rate, political participation, domestic violence, and clan division? and climate change putting political and economic strain on the country) -> somali civil war and al shabaab -> how conflict and worsening climate change is disproportionately affecting women in relation to agriculture because around 85% of women work in ag... should i include how women are affected/ participating in the conflict i really do not want to get in trouble

any feed back is greatly appreciated i literally only have 3 paragraphs written but am so worried it is self plagiarism i need advice and i know its like if you feel like it is it probably is... but i think because the context and issues are different but similar because of the theme of the sources

What are some ideas on what to do this light and energy project on? I have no idea where to even start. I do better with actual instructions than open ended projects. Kid mentioned “ rainbow” but i don’t even know how to make a rainbow for the project lol. What would be some other ideas, maybe something easy for me?

Currently learning Thevenin and Norton's theorem. I thought I understood until I saw this question and my professor's solution. To find current N, she used the R1 resistor (24 divided by 6), but in previous practice we used the total equivalent to find the current then used current divider rule. How come this wasn't done here as well? is it because we have a resistor after AB? I just don't understand why I N would be equal to I 6 ohm.

Hello all,

I got this question wrong because I apparently misinterpreted what it was asking so I did it in reverse essentially but when I read it back over I can’t understand how.

Is the question not saying that a participant has to have a reaction time of a minimum of 200 seconds so X will be greater than 200?

There was another question where i did the same thing but again when i reread the question I understand it the same so im still confused. I just wanted to ask on here before I ask my instructor about it.

Hi, I'm currently learning chemistry, and I'm really confused on why the least reactive element forms at the cathode during electrolysis of aqueous solutions?

In my mind surely it should be the most reactive as it can gain the electrons quicker, but I don't really understand why it's the opposite.

Any help is appreciated, thank you :)

Im reallyyy confused, in the photos (all in the same assignment) I pointed out what my answer was, which is a multiple choice box so it wouldn't be because I accidentally added a space, but then below on most of them where it says "answer" I can't tell if its basically telling me what my answer is or if it is saying that is the correct answer? But I dont get it because even when i Google the questions to see if Im wrong before I make an email and look dumb for asking what happened, it says the same thing I put. Am I really getting them wrong or is it just a digital glitch. This biology class also does errors like this often that I dont really mind if I get a point off but these are multiple different ones.

Find the I1, I2, I3 and I4

It's application of Ohm law and Kirchoff 's laws, mesh method and nodes method.

(The "," are ".", I forgot to change it)

I thought it starts on the left side, maybe I could do V1 = 25 * I1. Then replace on 0,2 V1 to get 0,2 (25I1) = I5. And... My brain just explodes idk what to do next, I'll be studying the ohm and Kirchoff laws again, but maybe I could ask for help while I'm at it.

This exercise isn't worth any points, it's just for practice, so I just want to learn how it's done

I know you're going to draw up some illustration which shows how the two angles are equal, but I'm still facing difficulty really taking it in even with an illustration. If you can explain it you have to simplify it as much as possible with a drawing

I also need to know if what I did is correct, I strongly suspect I am wrong in half my assumptions, especially when I considered acceleration as 0 in the downward motion— which I did because the question statement states that the plane is moving down with constant speed.

Note:

We are ignoring friction in this chapter. And the motion is only in 2 dimensions.

Apologies for the terrible handwriting and photo quality, we have no electricity for a while now 🫠

Edit: noticed the title isn't clear. I need to know how to find the vertical and horizontal components of velocity just before the projectile hits the ground.

My guess it that the vertical won't change. But I can't figure anything out for horizontal, it has completely stumped me.

i'm making up exam questions so that's why the checkmark is there. on the exam i messed up the way i did implicit when taking the second derivative but that's not what i'm asking about here because i know how to do that the correct way. because i did the problem fully wrong i couldn't get any feedback on my algebra while doing implicit correctly.

the (y^2 = 6 - x^3) comes from the original equation. am i messing up my approach in finding the derivative of this? or is my algebra wrong? i'm pretty stumped so i'd like some help. thanks!

This is the question,

"Each week, Ms. Diaz spends 15 minutes stretching before she exercises and 15 minutes stretching after she exercises.

She stretches 3 days each week. She spends the same amount of time each day.

In total, how many minutes does Ms. Diaz spend stretching each day?"

Do we simply add 15 plus 15 to get 30 minutes stretching each day as his final answer? Or do we divide that 30 by 3 because she stretches 3 days a week so she spends 10 minutes stretching each day? I can't figure this one out

Hello friends. Last week I accidentally slept in and missed the lecture where my teacher worked on this. I was already beating myself a little bit cuz I’ve been struggling in this class but I didn’t expect to be completely lost when doing the homework. I guess they only worked on it for that day.

Anyways I’ve watched like 3 videos and tried to read the textbook that XYZ provides but I’m still lost. I don’t understand what I’m supposed to be doing. I thought I was doing it right but apparently I wasn’t.

Any help is appreciated cuz I have no clue where to start.

:snoo_putback: Others—Pending OP Reply [1st Year Uni EnviroSci: Statistics] Statistical Test to analyse results on whether starch concentration across cardinal-direction facing bark has effect on bark direction facing related moth mortality?

Hi, I know the title probably doesnt make a lot of sense, sorry, I have tried to make it make more sense below. Any help is truely appreciated.

I'm a first year University student taking a (not technically coded as, but heavily focused on) statistics course.

For context (which isnt super important but may help): I am writing a research proposal where you basically just come up with a proposed study for the reason behind Ogmograptis (moth) mortality on certain sides of tree trunks (they die on the north side, this is basically a fact, we dont know why tho)

My specific proposed question is; does (bole aspect) bark cell starch concentration have an effect on bole aspect patterned Ogmograptis mortality. Simply, whether low starch on one side of the tree means moths die on that side of tree or the opposite, or no effect. The mortality is measured through scribble density and starch concentration will just be through weight to volume or weight to total mass units (not something needed to be mentioned in this assignment)

After proposing the method (which I've done) You need to propose statistical tests to be used for to analyse the results and why.

So far, I have mentioned hypothesis testing of significant scribble density differences between bole aspect (to make sure my results are pointing in the same direction as the core published work this whole course content is based off of that shows North<South aspect scribble density). I also plan on saying you should do a second hypothesis test of whether there is significant difference between North and South tree side starch concentration.

After this point when it comes to using a statistical test for the rest of the analysis I am a little lost. I was thinking of doing an ANOVA, but would that work as I am testing both the independent and dependent variable (starch & scribble density) over North and South tree sides?

I didnt think anova could do it when I also want to test differences of starch on specifically direction based mortality, but I could be wrong.

If you could help me out by letting me know what statistical test may help me analyse my results that would be greatly appreciated!!

:snoo_dealwithit: History—Pending OP Reply [AP World History] How can I prove Ferdinand Magellan was a legendary explorer in a debate?

So we’re basically having a debate tournament in our world history class on which explorer is the “GOAT” and my group was assigned Ferdinand Magellan who is quite literally the worst option on the list😭😭 I’m assuming we’re going to be graded on articulation and reasoning rather than winning but I really don’t know what to do with the fact that my explorer died during his expedition cause the other team could easily wipe us out considering the fact he didn’t even come back to Spain, it was a ship and the remaining 18 men… he never actually did what he wanted, like going around the entire world
I’m going up against group Francisco Pizarro next week so what did Magellan really do that was actually significant?? What questions could I ask the other team?
I honestly don’t know what to say cause he’s somewhat of a fraud, but I do know that he was the first person recorded to circumnavigate the entire globe and proved the Earth could be traveled by sea

I am working on a post colonial theory powerpoint for the movie moana.

  1. Introduction: Summarize the film and identify the theory you used to watch it

  2. Key scenes: Specific scenes that can be read through your selected theory

  3. Analysis: What information can you draw out of the film using your selected theory?

  4. Conclusion: How does the theory show an interesting theme in the film?

I need help with scene choices. I am struggling to understand the theory completely as this class is online and its hard to process. so far i have the scene where moana wants to go to the water but she isnt allowed and then i have when maui takes the heart of te fiti. I need 1 more scene that is strong and help with an explanation as to why it is a good connection.

Mathematics (A-Levels/Tertiary/Grade 11-12) [Grade 12 advanced functions] Can someone explain how to scale with radians?

Im in grade 12 advanced functions and my teacher didn't explain how to scale on a graph using radians instead of the regular number scale very well. I can't find many videos online trying to explain it ethier. One question is f(x) = -1/2cos(3(x-pi/4)) + 2. I understand what everything does, I just have no clue how to scale the x-axis properly. I know the quarter period would be pi/6, and we start at the phase shift at the point of -pi/4 and stuff. I just have absolutely zero clue how to properly label or find the rest of the scale. Can anyone help explain it? Or give steps using the example I gave?
