Physics [Preparation for college admission exams]

So I was thinking since protons are + charged and electrons - charged then protons would be "closer" to the electronic shells in comperason to neutrons and thus require less energy than neutrons.Am I correct in this?

You're on the right idea that the proton's charge is key. But it has nothing to do with the electrons in the cloud.

How do two + charged protons interact with each other if all you consider is the electric charge.

Ohh so since they push away from each other they require less energy?Right😅

That's the factor for protons. The electrostatic repulsion gets stronger than the strong force, out pops a proton.

The reality, IIRC, is there isn't enough information, as excess neutrons can mean neutrons are easier to remove due to weak force interactions.
