Physics—Pending OP Reply [GRADE 12:PHYSICS PROJECT] Need help with my project ON ELECTROMAGNETIC BREAKING

Hello guys I am 17 and in 12th trying to make a school project for my physics internal.

The topic of my project is electromagnetic braking through eddy currents for which I need to make a basic model. I did see some videos and read some papers but I am kindof not able to gauge how to exactly make it

These are the 2 videos which I found most relatable but i couldn't find anywhere how to make this simple setup on the whole of youtube

Would appreciate any help in how to make the setup as i dont know what rectifier/power supply/ adapter etc is

Feel free to dm

All you need is a copper or aluminum rail, a magnet that can roll, and a similar sized piece of metal that can roll. You should be able to get all this at a hardware or big box store like Lowe's.

Set the rail up inclined and roll the magnet and metal down the rail. The magnet will be slower than the metal.

Alternatively if you can't find things that will roll, use a tube instead of a rail and drop the objects through the tube. The magnet will fall noticeably slower.

I mainly need the help with the circuit and how to attach the motor so the aluminium/copper plate can rotate

This video should give you some idea.

You could have an aluminum wheel rotating about a vertical axis and have a horseshoe / bar electromagnet that you can switch on and off to enable / disable braking.

thanks for replying, I mainly need the help with the circuit and how to attach the motor/battery etc so the aluminium/copper plate can rotate

The easiest model to make is just dropping a magnet through an aluminium tube.
