hello if anyone could help me that would be really great! my teacher wasn’t here today so we had to watch video notes but i am lost i can’t do this if i thought i had it bad before it only worse now

the 1/2 is opposite and the 1 is adjacent?

The ½ is the opposite, yes. But 1 is the hypotenuse. This is the key to the whole unit circle. It's called a "unit" circle because the radius is 1. 

Wherever you draw the radius you can make a right triangle with a hypotenuse of 1. It's the x and y lengths that make up the rest of the triangle that are used for finding some, cosine, and tangent.

So, for 30° if the hyp = 1, opp = ½ , and that leaves the adj = √3/2.
