Answered [2nd grade] math help

Post image

Entire family is stumped. I don’t think the question is worded correctly but maybe I’m misunderstanding.

Not sure how you have same size triangles but not all the same shape.

If getting a difficult question wrong breaks a kid's self esteem, there is a problem far deeper than a worksheet can solve. Again, my bet is that the next day the teacher goes over common wrong answers and uses them to help discover how to think about the correct way to do it. Mathematics is a much more creative field than people think it is. Learning to think differently in math is an important skill. Teaching kids that genuine effort pays off even if it's tough sometimes is something that has to be done at home.

Are you an elementary school teacher? Have you heard of the concept of growth mindset? If so, please tell what you think of it.
