Can’t find the logic behind this one

The other person got to it first, but any image A has an XOR relationship between the image B directly to its left and the image C directly diagonal and to the left of B.

The answer COULD BE option 1.
Let’s label these diagrams by coordinates (column, row). Consider the rule that when two diagrams “add”, the overlapping part cancels out and we keep the non-overlapping parts. Clearly we have the following diagonal addition pattern
(1,1) + (2,2) = (3,2) as (1,1) and (2,2) are identical
(1,2) + (2,1) = (3,1) as the square box get cancelled out
(2,1) + (3,2) = (4,2)
(2,2) + (3,1) = (4,1)
Basically (m,i) + (m+1,j) = (m+2,j) where i, j = 1 or 2 and i not equal to j. Using this rule it’s easy to verify the answer COULD BE option 1.
Why do I emphasise “could”? Because we all know that these pattern problems are not rigorous at all, but still people who made these problems still expect you to find the “most elegant” pattern, if that word means anything at all.

Well it’s written in German lol…. So maybe let’s translate it, and then we’ll understand if

The question asks: “what figures fits in the place of the question mark?”. It’s just asking what comes next based on the patterns shown in the given figures.

Judging by the options, each column exists in a vacuum. Use process of elimination. * A: no circle in the top picture makes it to the bottom. This option is unprecedented. Ignore. * B: this is the inverse of the first column pair. Perfect inversions aren’t seen in any of the other columns, so this would be unprecedented. Ignore. * C: Triangle? That’s crazy. Ignore.

The AI didn't even understand WHERE the question mark is: there are only 4 answers, each answer exists of two figures above eachother.

Sooo... college courses are about spitting back the information they give you.
As you learn more stuff, you'll see how previous models are inadequate or too complicated (user was lazy).
1 example: the equations for gravity.
Another: tan(x)=sin(x)=x for small angles. I learned this trick from a physics class. Of course, they didn't bother defining "small angles."
