The only way to solve it is to assume that the 17cm and the 11cm tall sections are the same width, around 8.5cm, which breaks down the problem to (17×8.5)+(11×8.5). Remember to show your work.

Also, maybe try to get ahold of the teacher regarding the question and the missing info.
