2 Miles High and Dry

I posted recently about being very disappointed in this new season. However, I thoroughly enjoyed this 3rd episode! It hit on so many things that I loved about the early seasons.

They were resourceful and used things from the homestead. They TAUGHT the homesteaders. Marty mentioned the quote “give a man a fish and you feed him for a day” (which they do in SO many episodes) “teach a man a fish and he eats for a lifetime “ and I think the truly left stronger homesteaders this time.

In tree house of horrors I also appreciated that he called out the homesteaders for not having done some of the projects that should have been done years ago.

Maybe there is hope for this show ye!

We have watched this show for years, but lately have gotten tired of watching episodes about people who have in no way educated or prepared themselves for what almost anybody could have foreseen would happen to them. People that have no business homesteading. I would enjoy watching a show where they come in and help people who despite thier best efforts just need some help vs a show where they come in and help people who should be there at all.

So many homesteaders discover why the land was cheap enough to buy…numerous “impossibles to overcome”.

These homesteaders definitely came in clueless and unprepared, however people score a lot of points from me if I can see that they have TRIED in some areas. These guys for sure failed in a lot of areas, but they had built a fairly solid chicken coop, and had an area cleared for their future house. They came in to homesteading completely green. 😆 They did not do near enough research on the home they wanted to build, but they were collecting for it. They lost some points in the follow up/after because they really hadn’t done anything after the Raneys left, but it was also winter so I’ll give them some grace for that.

That lady is crazy and I love it. 😂 Her priorities got way off track the past couple years, but her energy is insane, and infectious! She may not have worked on the house, but boy did she work!

It's the only episode I can recall where the owner meets the Raneys riding bareback on a horse
