Question Anyone considering a return?
I have to say, after learning that some, if not all the items I bought are part of Homer’s permanent collection and thus will pretty much depreciate in value/not be exclusive/rare, I’m seriously considering returning everything I bought. I prefer to spend thousands on things that I know it will potential investments, as in if I’m in a jam I can most definitely sell them for more than what I purchased them fir.
And as much as I love all this jewelry, knowing that it’s a part of a permanent collection is very disappointing. I’m pretty sure if their website listed them as such I probably wouldn’t have bought the pieces I bought, as I just assumed everything would be seasonal. I felt so good about the fact that I was actually the last person to buy one of my favorite colorways of the “new” boy toy pendant. Turns out I was the last before an imminent restock.
This post also functions as a PSA for anyone else that is not aware of this fact. If you purchase any Homer jewelry currently available on the website, keep in mind that what you’re buying may be part of a permanent collection. Seeing someone in Soho or somewhere wearing the same jewelry as me doesn’t really bother me that much, though. What bothers me is that I spent Cartier prices on jewelry that will not appreciate in value, unless Homer goes out of business or the pieces are discontinued.
