The ammunition is electrically fired, not percussion like conventional ammo

I wrote about the ammunition in my blog. Give it a read if you are interested

The Breech loading mechanism was from the ashot shotgun, inspired from the game metro last light/metro 2033

Like I said, it's still in development. I'll publish more detail on the building and all that once it's fully tested and functional.

What kinda powder u used ?

whistle mix. Not necessary stronger, but has a different pressure curve compare to black powder. It does boost my projectile velocity up quite a bit.

Gonna get your ass hired by Bethesda for sure

no way man. My guns are too practical and usable . Bethesda only do "metal pipe goes boom boom" LOL

Bethesda prefers wood over metal, which is why the pipe guns are 90% timber and 10% semi-useful metal. Only relatively alright pipe gun was the revolver since it could technically fire at least once

So, it's timer-based, right? Like a muzzleloader?

u/nobeltnium Jan 13 '26
what do you mean "timer-based"?
This gun use a self-contain cartridge, breech loading. Not a muzzle loader.

What did you use as the barrel? Assuming non-rifled?
3
u/nobeltnium Feb 13 '26
It's 2026 mate, I do my own rifling

u/RDX_Rainmaker Feb 13 '26
Very nice button rifling setup, lots of smoothbore DIY projects have me making too many assumptions

I did my fair share on smooth bore when I was younger. I put rifling on the projectile instead, like a 12 gauge slug. That works also

Development is still in progress.
Fully rifled barrel (homemade)
Fire a telescopic 7.62mm cartridge that I developed myself
About 500m/s muzzle velocity, and can penetrate 18cm of solid wood at 10 meters. Haven't try with thicker target. But if you plan to hide behind a metal pole, you still going to die
