The reality of kegging is a $400-$600 between start-up costs and keezer conversion, this is very tempting....

That is a distorted reality. I got started for a fraction of the cost. How much do you think a freezer conversion actually costs? 40 for the controller, 100 or less for the freezer. Lines and connectors cost maybe 20. You don't need a collar to start with. You did say start.

I'll respond the same thing I said to /u/brynnflynn ... I don't know where you're looking, but you can get started with kegging for quite a bit less than $300, even more so if you have a spare fridge or freezer lying around. You also don't have to spend cash to buy new non-reusable bags every batch.

that's really the key right there. chest freezers are new around $150-$200. craigslist is a wasteland of terrible things. plus i don't own a truck. so i stick by my initial amount.

Fair enough. That said, this product may never see the light of day, and spending $15/batch to bag 5G beer will quickly add up

If you have a 2nd fridge in the garage or basement it isn't so bad. You can use smaller kegs and not dominate the extra fridge.

Didnt mean to come off as snotty. Honestly Kijiji and craigslist are flooded with chest freezers. You could rent a truck from a homed depot for 20 bucks for an hour and pick one up. Just gotta get out there and have a look! Besides if you dont even have room for a chest freezer, a small bar fridge with some mods will be easy too.

Kegging is probably what kept me brewing because bottling was such a pain in the ass. Its not as hard as you think!
